Check out this insane moment guards on a container ship shot at a Houthi kamikaze sea drone, leading to a massive explosion.
The video, originally posted on X by Navy Lookout, shows a cargo ship sailing through the Red Sea and what appears to be a small remote-controlled speedboat fast approaching. The unmanned boat was suspected to be a Houthi rebels drone boat filled with explosives.
The video doesn't reveal exactly where or when this happened, and the ship's name isn't mentioned.
It seems like we've been hearing way too much about pirates these days. The Red Sea is riddled with them.
The Iranian-backed Houthis have been targeting cargo ships in the Red Sea since Hamas attacked Israel (even though many of those vessels have no connection to the Hamas-Israel conflict).
The US Defense Intelligence Agency has reported container shipping through the Red Sea has dropped by 90% since December due to the attacks. This route handles about 15% of the world's maritime traffic.
In a joint statement with the shipping industry, they called this situation "unacceptable."
It is deplorable that innocent seafarers are being attacked while simply performing their jobs, vital jobs which keep the world warm, fed, and clothed.
This is an unacceptable situation, and these attacks must stop now.
I don't think Iran or their friends are going to stop until they're afraid someone will actually do something to stop them.
