Check out this crazy takedown of an aggressive driver in Arizona with a "Grappler Bumper" that is straight out of a comic book:

Police received a call on September 22 from a woman on the freeway who was being rammed by a crazy woman in another vehicle. The reckless driver continued to hit the caller's car even after police rolled up behind her.

After seeing she had no intent to stop, officers deployed the Grappler Bumper and pulled her vehicle to a stop.

Here's how the system works:

First, a bumper containing a grappler and a lead line is extended from the front of an officer's vehicle. The grapple system is then moved up to the back wheel, becoming tangled around the wheel and the rear axle.

Next, the officer can release the tether, disabling one of the driver's tires and forcing an inevitable end to the chase, or pull the tether tight and bring the bad guys to a total stop.
