Watch: This elderly woman's coat snagged on a shop door and she got hoisted into the air before the shopkeeper noticed (Don't worry, she's okay)

A grandma was left dangling for a full 12 seconds after her coat was caught on an automatic door in front of the shop and she was subsequently lifted 6 feet into the air before anyone noticed.

(And she's okay so don't worry if you laugh a little)

Folks are calling it the most literal example of "shoplifting" they've ever seen!

Shopworker Anne Hughes, 71, was standing outside the Best One shop in Tonteg, Wales, waiting for it to open on Monday morning.

The moment was captured on the store's CCTV camera, and later shared on social media by the shop's account.

The septuagenarian worker held onto her "trolley" (you might know it as a shopping cart or, if you're from God's country a "buggy") for dear life hoping someone would find her before the coat gave way.

Fortunately, after what must have been the longest 12 seconds of her life, she was helped down by another employee.

Again, it's okay to laugh. Anne Hughes laughed at it herself.

I'm just mad she stole all my good jokes.

Speaking at her home near the shop, Ms Hughes said: "I was just stood there when my coat got caught and up I went. I thought flipping heck!"

(Excuse me a second while I file "flipping heck" into my writer's vocabulary)

"People say it could happen to anyone, no, it could only happen to me! It's just lucky I've got a good sense of humour."

Okay, that's good stuff. Quite the sense of humor, indeed.

She said: "I've been suffering falls for the past six months or so and the doctors up the hospital think it's from low blood pressure. It was going up then!"

Anne has worked as a cleaner at the shop for 30 years, and everyone is glad she made it through this situation.

Good work is hard to find these days.
