Only four hours after opening, the Giant Slide in Michigan's Belle Isle Park closed because it drops people so fast, every bump in the slide is like a motorcycle ramp into the sky. Add to that a hot metal surface and a burlap bag, and these folks going down the slide look like flap jacks on a hot griddle.
Watching the kids though. Ouch!
Who could have possibly thought this was a good idea?
But don't worry; the slide is back open now with some wax to help slow riders' descent, and some safety instruction about how to ride.
Still looks pretty painful to me.
