Hard to believe our man here could make that jump even though he was being weighed down by … well, you know:
A Florida deputy was filmed making a daring jump to board a runaway speedboat that had been traveling roughly 41 mph after its driver fell off.
Footage taken this past Sunday showed the quick-thinking deputy's bravery - and ability to channel his inner swashbuckler by both boarding and stopping the wayward vessel.
"Swashbuckler" is right. Deputy Travis Fernandes was like one of the pirates of Penzance.
He executed that leap like he does it every single day.
The sheriff's office said the deputy and his partner were able to overtake the boat "by matching its speed (about 41 mph)." I don't know how many of you ever boat, but if you don't know, 40 mph on the water is friggin' FAST.
Just in case it were unclear, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office wants you to know:
'And yes, Deputy Fernandes does his own stunts.'
No CGI needed. Well done, deputy.
