“We will not comply,” chant NY business owners as they chase off health inspector and sheriff's deputies harassing them about alleged Covid violations.

How about a bit of good news from the Covid front lines?

"They found out they messed with the wrong bunch of patriots."

As Robby Dinero, owner of Athlete's Unleashed and veteran who had been deployed three times to the Middle East put it,

"Freedom can never by subjugated to fear."

The confrontation ensued when a number of local business owners got together with Dinero and supporters for a private meeting at his gym.

Someone then supposedly called in a complaint.

A health inspector dutifully appeared escorted by Sheriffs Deputies and that's when the fun began.

Many of the exchanges went like this:

"You should all be wearing masks"

"Don't worry about my health, my health isn't your concern."

Not to mention a crowd favorite,

"Get out! Get out! Get out!"

The business owners demanded to see warrants from the deputies, which of course they did not have. The health inspector noted it would be a "code violation," which does not require a warrant, which is unfortunately technically true, but the business owners weren't having any of that either.

"They have no business being here. They could not cite us for anything. The health department official was unable to articulate why she was there."

The county officials eventually left in part because they didn't find anything to write them up for given the premises and nature of the meeting. That, or they figured it wasn't worth the trouble.

The reporter closed with this on Dinero,

"He is not denying the virus, he is not denying that people are getting sick, he just wants the freedom to be a responsible business owner and make a living."

Let's see if we can make that uncontroversial again.
