We're now at the stage of societal collapse where the experts are telling us to pee on our veggie gardens 🤦‍♂️
· May 23, 2022 · NottheBee.com

I suppose we should be happy that we still have veggies to pee on (for now).

Yes, this is a real thing that the mainstream media would like us to know.

Remember the ancient era of 2020 when gas was $1.89, food was abundant and cheap, you could pick up baby formula at any store on the continent, and you didn't have to drop your trousers to grow your garden?

Human urine can be used as a safe and effective crop fertilizer, researchers say. And studies show using pee as a substitute for commercial chemical fertilizers could have positive environmental impacts.

"If you save all the urine that you produce in a day, there's enough fertilizer in there to grow all the wheat that you need to make a loaf of bread," said Abraham Noe-Hays, research director at Rich Earth Institute. "It's a huge amount of nutrients, and it could grow a significant portion of our dietary needs just from from the nutrients in our urine."

See, comrades? All you need to do to earn that loaf of bread is to take a whiz all over your backyard!

The Rich Earth Institute, based in Vermont, runs the country's first community-scale urine recycling program and conducts research on the safety and efficacy of pee as a replacement for chemical fertilizers. One way the group collects pee from donors is by using urine-diverting toilets that keep the liquid separate from the solids.

Urine contains essential nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, all of which help plants grow and are commonly found in synthetic fertilizers, Noe-Hays said.

Pretty much everyone with a brain knows this. In fact, nearly every human being in all of history has known that urine and fecal matter grow crops.

Besides the fact that it's illegal to flash the neighbors and a bit odd to be collecting pee in jars everywhere...

...there are some pretty good historical reasons we don't use piles of human waste to fertilize food.

The article doesn't come right out and say that this is going to cause mass outbreaks of cholera, E. Coli, and the like, but it does say this method should only be used for food eaten by your family.

You know, so you don't kill any of your friends.

If you intend to share your crops outside your household, you should sanitize your urine by storing it in an airtight container at 68°F or higher for six months.

USA Today: People with a temperature-controlled room to store buckets of urine are totally normal!

Of course, USA Today also wants you to know that this really isn't about Joe Biden's failed geopolitical strategy that allowed Russia and China (the two largest fertilizer exporters) to control the global market, but it's about saving Mother Gaia!

Chemical fertilizers also have their own environmental issues. A 2021 study found the production and use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers accounts for 2.4% of global emissions, making it one of the most polluting industrial chemicals.

You heard him!

Get out there and water those tomatoes!
