Continuing their centuries-long dedication to screwed-up priorities, Germany is now handing down harsher punishments for sending offensive messages to gang rapists than for committing gang rapes … of children.
In Hamburg, Germany, a 20-year-old woman has been sent to prison for "hateful" remarks made towards one of nine migrants charged with the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl. She is one of just 140 people who are also being investigated for "harmful comments" towards the rapists.
Feelings über alles, Germany?
According to reports, back in 2020, multiple groups of migrants men independently attacked and raped a 15-year-old girl in a Hamburg park. 11 men were initially charged, and two were acquitted due to a lack of DNA evidence. Meanwhile, sperm of the remaining nine men was found linking them to the attack.
Five of the men hold German passports, while the remaining are not German citizens. The men — aged between 19 and 23-years-old — are reportedly from Poland, Egypt, Libya, Kuwait, Iran, Armenia, Afghanistan, Syria and Montenegro.
Despite DNA and WhatsApp evidence, and a complete lack of remorse from the perpetrators for committing the heinous crime, all but one of the defendants received suspended sentences of one to two years. The remaining defendant — a 19-year-old Iranian — must serve just two years and nine months in youth custody.
After the identity and phone number of one of the rapists was released online, a 20-year-old woman from Hamburg messaged the man, calling him a "dishonorable rapist pig" and a "disgusting miscarriage," adding "Aren't you ashamed when you look in the mirror?"
For this supposed crime, German authorities have charged her with sending insulting messages, sentencing her to a weekend in prison — which means she received more prison time than eight of the nine child rapists.
For real.
