It was like something out of the pages of Tikki Tikki Tembo ... you know, that famous children's story where the favored number one Chinese son with the really long name fell into the well, and the second son, with the really short name had to run and get help. Only in this story, it's the son with the really short name (and the really FAT belly) that fell into the well.

The man, an overweight 28 year old known only as "Liu," was helping his parents fill an old, dried up well (ironically, to keep anyone from falling into it), when the debris he was trying to shove into it gave way under his immense weight, plunging him (or should we say "plugging" him?) into it. So broad was the man's girth that his belly got lodged in the opening, keeping his torso safely above ground.

Using ropes and pulleys, it took the efforts of an entire team of rescuers from the Luoyang Fire Department (Yichuan County in the Henan Province) to hoist him out.

Go ahead and eat that Double Whopper and chase it with an extra large chocolate shake ... it might just save your life!
