Witness Hyundai's bold vision of a world where we all root through mounds of garbage and then pass out in our Hyundais

Truly, the corporate capacity to imagine a brighter future knows no bounds:

If you don't have 12 minutes to waste on an electric car commercial, Andrew Hawkins at the Verge did the hard work of actually watching it and summing it up for us:

In the video, we're introduced to an artist named Mia who's putting on a "trashion show." So relatable! For those not in the know (like me), trashion is the art of repurposing waste and recyclable materials — basically trash — as fashion. ...

Mia uses her Hyundai Ioniq 6 to traverse the eerily traffic-less landscape looking for bottle tops and tarps she can transform into dresses and rompers...

But things quickly take a dark turn for Mia. It is revealed that her hectic schedule — Is she self-employed? It seems likely, but goes unmentioned — doesn't allow her enough time to take breaks, forcing her to sleep in her car.

Hyundai claims the Ioniq 6 is the ideal place for a nap, calling it a "mindful cocoon" for single, young urban professionals. The interior is packed with sustainable materials and dramatic lighting, with 64 colors from which to choose. The automaker says it was designed to be a "healing space" with its "relaxation seats" and "speed sync lighting."

Excuse me for just a moment:

We should note that collapsing in your car from exhaustion after you rifle through moldy old clothes is not the only thing Hyundai pictures you doing in its cars: They also imagine you engaging in "fun driving," working in an uncomfortably cramped space on your laptop, watching a streaming movie on a tablet with a kitschy box of popcorn, broadcasting your livestream that nobody's watching—the possibilities are endless.

From now on, whatever car company doesn't make these nauseating commercials is the one that gets my money.
