So, what do y'all like to do for fun?
In her downtime, 30-year-old Lisa Jones enjoys smashing random car windshields in nice residential neighborhoods around Los Angeles.
Check it out:
It was just a shock, very surprising. 'What the heck is she doing to our car?'
According to authorities, the car smasher went on a rather unconventional spree, hurling bricks at numerous vehicles scattered across L.A. - she targeted cars in Burbank, Santa Monica, and West Los Angeles between Feb. 21 and March 29.
After an "intense" search, Jones has been arrested and charged with felony vandalism - 11 felony counts and one misdemeanor charge for vandalism of $400+ in damage or destruction of property.
Inside Edition
She will face a maximum of nearly 10 years in prison if found guilty on all counts.
Despite prosecutors suggesting a bail of $600,000 for Jones, the court decided on a lower bail amount of $120,000. She is scheduled for her next court appearance on April 19.
District Attorney George Gascón called Jones' behavior "reckless."
The reckless and destructive behavior exhibited by Ms. Jones demonstrates a flagrant disregard for the law and a lack of respect for other peoples' property.
(If Gascón wants to keep you in jail, you know you messed up!)
In the videos, Jones gets out of her white Volkswagen Tiguan with her trusty brick in hand. She casually approaches several cars and goes to town on them — smashing the windows and then walking away as if nothing happened.
She even took a chunk of one of the windshields with her as a souvenir!
One of the victims who had her Porsche smashed up wasn't sure what she did to deserve it.
The only thing I can think of possibly is that I might have, you know, pissed her off on the road on the way home from the grocery store.
Well, if that's the case, then it sounds like this lady had it coming! (Just kidding, Jones is obviously just a crazy person.)
Jones was even caught red-handed by a few of the car owners. When one man asked what the heck she was doing, she just ignored him, stared at him "very angrily," then went back into her car and drove away.
I'm not sure what Jones got out of this other than temporary stress relief. Maybe she felt entitled to those cars, and if she can't have them, then no one should be able to enjoy them?
Car theft in L.A. has hit the highest count in nearly two decades. In 2023, the city saw a continued rise in car thefts for the fourth year running. There were 25,825 reported cases of auto theft, a modest increase from the previous year. However, this figure represents a staggering 64% surge compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
In this case, Jones didn't steal the cars; she just damaged them ... for fun?
