I NEED this "Smellicopter" the University of Washington created. It's a drone that uses moth antenna to navigate by smell.

Add this to the list of Christmas gifts you didn't know you wanted.

Melanie Anderson, a Ph.D. student at the University of Washington has worked with a team to develop the "Smellicopter." It's a tiny drone that uses the antenna from a moth to navigate toward specific spells.

Whenever it detects the odor, it will move upwind toward it, avoiding objects as it goes.

It sounds bizarre, but some of the real-world applications they are considering include using Smellicopters to detect undetonated explosives or find gas leaks.
