You decide: Was this lady's reaction justified, or was she way out of line?
A few things to consider before you cast your vote:
- As an objective matter, screaming and shouting while you are in danger is a valid and effective tactic. Defense instructors will tell their students that issuing loud verbal commands is often the first line of defense in any dangerous situation. But was it justified here?
- People in general, and women in particular, are often easy targets in parking lots, particularly if they have small children that they have to load up in a minivan alongside a cart full of heavy groceries, etc. Parking lots can be backdrops for easy kidnappings given the close proximity of getaway vehicles. A simple Google search demonstrates that it does happen with some regularity.
- All that being said, the whole internet is basically saying that this woman is crazy and overreacted bigtime.
