Can you believe this happened in California? Of course you can.
Some youth soccer parents in Sacramento, California, were a little ticked off to find that donors to the Natomas Futbol Academy were sent emails, directing them to a website that sold "adult toys and sexually-themed products," the Blaze reports.
An ad for the fundraiser said, "Treat the adult soccer supporter in your life and raise money for Natomas FA," adding that the site has "private online ordering with discreet shipping."
"After communicating with several other Natomas FA families, we feel that integrating a youth sports fundraiser with an adult toy vendor was ill-advised," parents said in a statement to the academy board.
"We hope that the Natomas FA board will strongly consider ending this fundraiser with all due haste, as well as giving more thorough scrutiny to any and all fundraising campaigns moving forward."
The board seemed to have a hard time understanding what the big deal is, though...
"This is supposed to help bring in some money. Some parents are choosing to turn it into something super horrible," said Natomas FA leadership secretary Wendy Hill to KCRA-TV.
Yes, "super horrible" of the parents to complain about this.
It's the PARENTS that are choosing to turn this fundraiser into "something super horrible," not the idiots who made sex toys a fundraiser reward for a YOUTH SOCCER PROGRAM.
"[The company providing the sex toys] is a health and wellness company," Hill said. "We provide education and products that help you from the moment you wake up in the morning until you fall asleep at night."
Yeah, it's just a "health and wellness company." What's the problem?!
Hill said roughly $80,000 was raised by the fundraiser "in order to offset costs related to park rentals, coaches, and running the lights," the Blaze reports.
"If there's a backlash with this, and people are really unhappy about it, then we won't do it again," Hill said.
"We're really sorry that this isn't something that you support. We'll try to do a better time next time."
Translation: Dear annoying parents, it's your fault that YOU don't support this.
