It was late last year when we told you that MMA fighter Conor McGregor was really making an attempt to enter into Irish politics.

This morning, the king of MMA just made a pitch to be considered as supreme executive for the Irish people. An Irishman for the Irish.

As President I hold the power to summon the Dáil as well as dissolve it. So as i said before, I would have all the answers the people of Ireland seek from these thieves of the working man, these disrupters of the family unit, these destructors of small businesses, and on and on and on! These charlatans in their positions of power would be summoned to answer to the people of Ireland and I would have it done by day end. Or I would be left with no choice but to dissolve the Dáil entirely. Stop the train until ...

The Dáil is the lower level of parliament in Ireland. It's a little bit like the US Congress. And, in Ireland, they serve at the pleasure of the president.

So McGregor is running on the platform of either forcing the Dáil to do what's right for Ireland, or dissolving the Dáil completely.

McGregor continues:

McGregor is incredibly popular in his home country and has been very vocally opposed to mass migration.
