Pointing out cases of projection among politicians, particularly those on the American left, is a little like shooting fish in a barrel.
Those who parade themselves before cameras and position themselves behind microphones so that they can expose the menacing threats posed by any number of political adversaries are so often guilty of the very accusations they hurl.
For instance, is there a more tried and true insulting indictment utilized by leftists than racism. They have so overused the charge that it has become a meme.
Yet, time and again, that same progressive movement is revealed to be harboring some of the most obvious carriers of the racism virus. Say, like this:
Further, Christian teachers in the public school system, particularly those with conservative politics, are often accused by leftists of seeking to "indoctrinate" rather than educate. Those accusations come from the same side that is perpetrating things like this:
But perhaps the most sinister of all these examples of projection are the ones associated with political violence and terror. For the last decade, progressive media has been running a full court press against the American people, bombarding them at every turn with dire warnings about the rise of political terror from the right.
Countless stories have been run about the threat of violence from sleeper cells of Neo-Nazis, Christian nationalists, alt-right militias, Proud Boys, and Oath Keepers, all receiving their coded marching orders from Donald Trump. Yet, despite all the warnings, no right-wing reign of terror has materialized even as progressive radicals have tried twice to assassinate the president, burned half the country's major cities to the ground in the Black Lives Matter riots, bombed fertility clinics, and now have unleashed an anti-Semitic intifada.
Two months ago, a left-wing "free Palestine" terrorist attempted to kill Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and his family by torching their residence while they slept inside. The arsonist didn't care for the fact that Shapiro was Jewish, or the fact that he was supportive of Israel's defensive war in the Gaza Strip. So murdering Shapiro, his wife, and their four children seemed the way to go.
Meanwhile, two weeks ago, a left-wing "free Palestine" terrorist named Elias Rodriguez murdered a young Jewish couple as they left a reception in D.C. He didn't know the two innocent people he murdered, but since they were Jewish peace activists, he decided to shoot them in cold blood.
Not to be outdone, a left-wing "free Palestine" terrorist named Mohamed Sabry Soliman attacked a group of Jewish Americans last weekend at an event supporting the hostages held in Gaza. Having planned his attack for a year, Soliman told authorities he "wanted to kill all Zionist people," so he used a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to set elderly people on fire.
It's an alarming and annoying pattern, and too obvious to ignore.
Progressive complaints and cautions about the Right are little more than a mirror reflecting their own tendencies and inclinations. If progressives hope to be taken seriously outside their own echo chamber, they'll first need to learn that those in glass houses shouldn't throw Molotov cocktails.
