Of all our problems in the West, a flagrant inability to engage in critical thinking has to be among the worst; second only, perhaps, to our collective rejection of God.
Though we feign sophistication, the sorry testimony of modern society is a preoccupation with elevating the inane, boasting about the unintelligent, promoting the ignorant, and rewarding the unenlightened.
American society has become the living embodiment of the Apostle Paul's ancient words:
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."
The latest example of this depressing reality came as the online progressive hordes gathered to defend the ethics and virtue of LGBT pride month. Influencer and liberal activist Andrea Junker took her shot at defending all things left with this buffoonery:
It's incredible to think that grown adults not only think this nonsense is profound, but that they are so confident in that assessment they willingly post it publicly, believing it is some sort of mic drop moment that will impress the masses.
Yet, all it takes to unravel this intellectual rubbish is to simply substitute in any moral issue that isn't a pet progressive cause.
Don't like assault rifles? Don't buy one.
Don't like child labor? Don't hire one.
Don't like pollution? Don't pollute.
Don't like slavery? Don't own one.
Don't like theft? Don't steal.
Cultural leftism is built upon the shifting sands of moral relativism, and when it is exposed to even the softest scrutiny, it melts faster than an ice cream sandwich in the Sahara.
A tip for Ms. Junker and her compatriots: When the consistent application of your own worldview leads to the moral justification of some of humanity's most egregious crimes - things like genocide and chattel slavery - it might be time to abandon your worldview to find one that can indict immorality for what it is.
Human dignity and individual worth are not cultural preferences that are up for negotiation. Those who lack the clarity of mind to acknowledge as much could best serve humanity by logging off social media and engaging their dormant minds.
