I know crooks are desperate to avoid getting nabbed. A bad guy is understandably going to do everything to keep away from the cops.

And man, it really does seem like this perp in California did everything he could after shoplifting at the Home Depot.

From the local ABC affiliate:

Alhambra police [used] drone to help track down [a] suspected thief, who they eventually found hiding behind a giant teddy bear on a bunk bed.

Officers found the shirtless suspect on Sept. 8 as he hid in an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) of a home. Police had been tracking Alejandro Garciavielmas with a drone after he allegedly left a Home Depot with some stolen items, which he apparently later discarded.

It gets better. Police say Garciavielmas "ran into the property ... and even helped himself to some ice cream before he was arrested."

Cops were taking no chances with this fellow hiding behind a shockingly large stuffed bear in a sleeping shed:

Dude is being pursued by the police and they're on the verge of catching him and still he has enough time to grab an ice cream.

Police had used the drone to track the suspect well across the city prior to his arrest in the shed:

Gotta say I'm pretty impressed that cops in California went to this length to arrest a shoplifter. It's an encouraging sign!

(Anyone want to take bets on whether Garciavielmas is in the country illegally?)
