You're familiar with "Florida man" stories, but what about "Florida boys"?
Two middle school boys in Florida learned the hard way this week that good mothers love you enough to bust you when you do something really stupid, as their moms turned them in for causing $50,000 in damage to their school's library.
The New York Post has the details:
The alleged bad seeds were identified as 12-year-old Felix Cohen Romero and 13-year-old Bentley Ryan Wehrly, who confessed to the outrageous vandalism of the Friendship Elementary library in Deltona, according to a Facebook post from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
The boys reportedly started the act of vandalism Saturday night, wreaking havoc and leaving the library in shambles.
A glass door was shattered, the media center was vandalized, furniture was broken, and books were tossed every which way, while graffiti was scrawled on doors, the video showed.
After police posted the video of the aftermath, the boys' mothers called the cops and turned in their troublemaking sons.
Each boy is charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of trespassing on school grounds, criminal mischief, and theft, the sheriff's office said.
No word yet on how long the boys will be grounded.
