Police in Köniz, Switzerland, near Bern, got quite the surprise when they were sorting through images of speeders caught on camera in a 30 km/h zone.
A duck got clocked going through at 52 km/h.

The municipality considered whether it was some sort of joke, but the police have denied any foul play. The images and the radar system are locked and cannot be tampered with.
The really funny part is that they're pretty sure this duck has set off this same trap in the past.
Adding to the mystery, authorities said the duck was likely a repeat offender and shared an image of a similar looking duck travelling in the same spot, at the same speed and on the same date in 2018.

One would think that when you have a repeat speeder, it would be easier to track them down.
But the authorities have taken to social media to let the people figure out what is happening:
In a Facebook post, Koeniz officials wished the public 'a lot of fun' in making sense of the 'curious coincidences' seven years in the making.
'We wish you a lot of fun sensing about curious coincidences, criminal machinations of animals and the maximum flight speed of ducks,' the post read.
One of the most common responses to the officials is people asking what sort of penalties the duck will be facing.
I mean, no one is above the law!
Let's just say with two tickets at 22 km/h over the legal limit, this duck is bound to have a huge bill.
