Jefferson County, Kentucky, is NOT moving forward with the prosecution of the world's top golfer, Scottie Scheffler, after his recent arrest.
Here's the prosecutor:
Based upon the totality of the evidence, my office cannot move forward in the prosecution of the charges filed against Mr. Scheffler. Mr. Scheffler's characterization that this was 'a big misunderstanding' is corroborated by the evidence.
Translation: "Our cops got too big for their britches, messed up, and we're going to forget this ever happened. Pretty please."
Or something like that.
Earlier today, we got more footage from Scheffler's arrest and, let's just say that the cops don't come out of it looking good.
Scottie: 'I didn't know who he was. He didn't tell me he was a police officer ... He didn't "say police get out of the car," he just hit me with his flashlight and yelled "get out of the car."'
Officer, later in the clip: 'No matter if you thought he was a police officer or not ... you stop at that time.'
