An armed man that held four hostages at Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, was shot and killed by law enforcement officials late Saturday after a 10-hour standoff. All hostages are alive and safe.

The man reportedly demanded the release of a convicted terrorist Aafia Sidiqqui, also known as "Lady Al Qaeda." U.S. officials called her the "most wanted woman in the world," before she was convicted in 2010 and sent to serve her sentence at Carswell Air Force Base near Fort Worth.

The unidentified man carried backpacks, which he claimed had explosives. He also claimed to have bombs set in unknown locations.

Colleyville Police Department said they will "continue to work in partnership with the FBI to finalize all details."

"I do not have any information right now that indicates this is part of any ongoing threat," said FBI agent Matt Desarno. "We'll continue to investigate his contacts. Our investigation will have global reach."

"We do believe from our engagement with this subject that he was singularly focused on one issue and it was not specifically related to the Jewish community. But we will continue to work and find motive."
