Serious stuff first:
On Friday night, a series of storms swept through the United States from Michigan to Kentucky, killing at least 21 people and leaving 540,000 homes and businesses without power.
14 of the dead were residents of Kentucky.
From CNN:
The National Weather Service reported a radar-confirmed, 'large, extremely dangerous' tornado sweeping east across lower Kentucky shortly after midnight.
Video and photos from southeastern Kentucky show a trail of destruction that began in Pulaski County before moving east into neighboring Laurel County.
The tornado leveled an entire community.
The tornado that hit St. Louis, however, led to some more ... colorful reactions.
The damage and loss of life is no joke, but I couldn't help but smile at how different communities react to something like a tornado in such stereotypical ways.
This was peak white-guy:

My man is listening to pop music in his truck ... at the golf course ... while marveling how he survived a few downed trees:
'LOOK AT THIS! This is the bike path!!'

Meanwhile, this was peak black-guy:
This guy's whole block was wrecked and he's just like "a tornado hit me cuz" while his smoke detector battery fails in the background 💀

Going back to the serious reporting now, the view from the Gateway Arch was frightening:
It really was no joke. Over 5,000 buildings in St. Louis were damaged.
More from CNN:
Ben Herzog, a science and operations officer with the National Weather Service, said a tornado warning was issued at 2:34 p.m Friday and a 'likely tornado' touched down seven to eight minutes after that. He said the agency was surveying the damage and had no information on the intensity, but estimates are that winds reached 100 mph.
Another round of severe weather is set to roll through the Southeast on Saturday night.
