As they say, "Never let a serious crisis go to waste."

Here's Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in the wake of a terrorist attack which saw two Muslim men shoot up a Hanukkah event in Bondi Beach, killing 15 people.

Yes, Australia has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the world, having had a mass gun buyback in 1996. I'll let Google explain.

However, they're going to do even more gun control after the mass shooting at Bondi Beach where an unarmed civilian had to stop the shooter -- and was then shot by police!

We told you on Tuesday that Australia's national cabinet was holding an emergency meeting and was going to do something of this nature:

And now the gun buyback is here.

From CBS News:

Australia would pay gun owners to surrender 'surplus, newly banned and illegal firearms.'

Albanese said Monday that his government was 'prepared to take whatever action is necessary. Included in that is the need for tougher gun laws.' He specifically suggested measures that could limit the number of guns a licensed owner can obtain, and mandating a review process for existing licenses.

The prime minister said the federal government would evenly split the cost of the buyback program with Australia's state and territorial administrations, with further details to be worked out when lawmakers return to work next week.

I'm sure these new gun laws, unlike the old ones, will stop Islamic terrorist father-son duos from traveling to the Philippines to be trained by ISIS, purchasing six guns in Australia even though the son is on a terror watchlist, and then shooting up a Hanukkah event and killing 15 people.
