So former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was parading through the streets at a rally and someone tried to make a pincushion out of him with lead.

Watch:

[Warning: Violence]

The 70-year-old Khan was reportedly shot in the leg and is doing okay. He even managed to wave to the crowds after the attack to let them know he's still alive.

For those experienced with blasters, you might have noticed that the assassin was firing full auto.

If he had been using a rifle, he might have been more accurate, but he was using a machine pistol, which basically sends bullets spraying all over the place.

Within a second of pulling the trigger, he also had to contend with this dude in a FILA shirt:

If you're wondering, yes, the crowd appreciated FILA Champ's bravery:

More from Reuters:

"If the shooter had not been stopped by people there, the entire PTI leadership would have been wiped out."

Local media showed pictures of Khan, 70, waving to the crowd after being evacuated from his vehicle following the shooting.

He was taken to hospital in Lahore after the attack in Wazirabad, nearly 200 km (120 miles) from the capital, Islamabad.

Protesters poured out on to streets in some parts of the country as PTI leaders demanded justice.

In a confession video (take that with a grain of salt in a place like Pakistan), the assassin reportedly contradicted his own story in explaining his actions:

The Islamic country has seen dozens of political assassinations in the last few decades.

Keep it classy, Pakistan!
