I have no idea how people this misinformed are allowed to write about guns:
Look at that line from this article:
...large-capacity magazines, which in practice easily convert handguns into semiautomatic weapons capable of rapid fire.
All the Glock boys out there be like:
If you don't know, this right here is a magazine:
The only thing it does is hold bullets. It can hold one bullet or a thousand, but it doesn't change the rate of fire.
Saying larger magazines make your gun fire faster is like saying a larger gas tank makes your car drive faster. It's that stupid.
It's so moronic, in fact, that you barely notice that this journalist has no idea what semi-auto means.
The same writer says this:
Under the law, owners of high-capacity magazines had 180 days to modify the banned components, surrender them to police or transfer them to people in states where such magazines are legal.
Anyone still in possession of an outlawed magazine after the grace period could face up to five years in prison or a fine of up to $5,000.
Oh, you're going to tell Americans that they will go to jail for 5 years if they don't surrender the tools that would allow them to effectively fight back against a tyrannical government. Good luck with that!
