HAAAAAAA
Mind you, this is the same MSNBC that published an op-ed in 2022 on how "white supremacists" were "scheming" to use exercise to "valorize violence and hypermasculinity."
In 2022, TIME also published an article on the white supremacist roots of exercise.
In addition to those, Not the Bee covered a story from WaPo that warned about the trend of young men who are interested in "bulking up." There were no op-eds warning about the crisis of obesity (that would be "fatphobic"), but men obsessed with building muscle was an existential threat!
Let's not forget this 2024 Guardian article that warned how getting in shape might make you a "rightwing jerk."
Or this 2017 Vice article that said the same.
Or this article from May 2025 from St. Andrew's College:
The underlying message is clear: Masculinity is not just toxic, but extremist, racist, and will literally turn you into Hitler.
But as it turns out, telling the 4 billion men on the planet that their desire to be stronger and more self-disciplined is evil wasn't a winning strategy!
So now the libs are trying to rebrand.
The newest MSNBC article says that physical fitness is for both political parties, actually, and that it's good now for men to work out.
Especially because gyms are "inclusive" 😂
Gyms have also never been more inclusive: Weight rooms welcome women and men frequent studio classes.
This might be my favorite line:
While it's become more common to see Republicans like Paul Ryan or Pete Hegseth flaunting their fitness, Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden often promoted exercise as a personal and policy priority...
Comparing Pete Hegseth:
To Obama and Biden:

The op-ed says physical fitness is something men turn to when they are seeking order in the midst of chaos, and ties that to old-school Democrats and the working man's plight:
Men are encouraged with particular urgency to get moving when their social status feels in flux. Generation after generation, boosters sell men the irresistible idea that at the gym, if nowhere else, the sweat of your brow is all that stands between you and success. It's an understandable, even healthy impulse, and Democrats would do well to start rebuilding their political muscle quite literally, by seeking to identify with the guy at the gym.
Great advice, my dude, but good luck convincing the new Democratic Party, with your coalition of Transgenders for Palestine and fourth-wave "body-positive" feminists, to agree with you.
To them, you just sound like another Nazi!
