Welcome to the modern American justice system, where one side gets thrown in jail for questioning an election, but the other side gets monetary rewards for staging violent riots.
During the BLM riots of the Summer of St. Floyd, police in Denver rounded up about 300 protesters who violated the state's curfew order for Covid. Because they were on the riGhT siDe oF hiStoRy, they never faced any real punishment.
But now the city is doing the unthinkable. They're paying out $4.7 million to those arrested for the lockdown violations.
The city of Denver, Colorado, recently reached a $4.7 million settlement with more than 300 Black Lives Matter protesters arrested for violating the city's emergency curfew order to participate in the summer 2020 riots following the death of George Floyd.
The Denver City Council unanimously approved the settlement on Monday, the Denver Post reported.
Meanwhile, the other side of the aisle has to face the full brunt of the law. Even if that means enforcing laws unjustly and in ways they've never been applied before.
America in 2023.
