Is Disney finally tired of woke, or are they just tired of losing money?

The new Disney Pixar show Win or Lose made the news earlier this year for removing a trans character, as we reported here:

Now people are talking about the fact that one of the main characters is an open Christian, something not seen in a Disney production since Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame in 1996.

In the first episode of the show, the main character Laurie is seen praying before one of her games.

Here's her prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, please give me strength. I have faith, but sometimes the doubt creeps in. I promise I'll be good, and I uh, wont do that thing again. I'm not sure where you stand on it, but I WON'T do it. I just want to catch a ball. Or get a hit. For my team, of course.

According to several reports, the episode later shows her in her room, which contains Christian imagery.

Could this be a new era for Disney? Is this just cheap tokenism to try and salvage their family friendly image? Will the themes of the show be anti-Christian, in spite of the Christian main character? That remains to be seen.

Not a bad sign, though.

Here's a trailer for those of you that still watch Disney:
