Georgia Church Requiring Worshipers to Show Proof of Vaccination to Attend Service

Come just as you are...but only if you're vaccinated!

Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta is requiring churchgoers to register for the service, show proof of vaccination, sign a waiver, and have their temperature checked to enter the church. So you could say they're taking COVID a little seriously.

The pastor, Rev. Flippin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution,

"It concerns me greatly. There are too many young people who won't get the vaccine. The health of our congregation is the most critical."

To that, I tell Rev. Flippin, I'll do whatever I flippin wanna do, sir.

The article makes sure to note that Reverend Flippin is fully vaccinated himself.

A spokesperson for the church said that those who didn't want to get vaccinated can watch the service on youtube. On youtube.

I repeat:

Also, if you fit into that category, PLEASE FIND A NEW CHURCH. And no, a new youtube church doesn't count.

The church is also asking members to rotate when they attend so that different people can come to church each week. I have a feeling their attendance will soon be going down anyways.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution,

Flippin said he had to recently release employees who refused to get vaccinated. They cited either religious reservations or health concerns. A letter from a doctor is required for medical exemptions to the church's vaccine mandate, Flippin said.

That's right, the same "church" fired staff members who did not receive the vaccine for religious reasons. I can see how a conflict in their religious views here would cause issues within the church staff.

Oh, and in case you weren't clear on the church's political affiliation, they posted back in April about their Women's ministry celebrating Chucks and Pearls Day in Honor of Kamala Harris.

If I haven't made it clear enough yet, I think it's time for the people of Greater Piney Grove to find a new church.
