Georgia man orders a drill online, gets printed-out picture of drill

Who hasn't received some sketchy stuff from third-party sellers these days? Nevertheless, it is hard to top Sylvester Franklin, of Savannah, Georgia's, order.

'They sent me this. A picture is what they sent me,' Franklin said.

At least that little bait-and-switch was kind of clever; that wasn't the only thing wrong about Franklin's order, however.

'I paid $22.47 for a pressure washer, and this is what I get,' he said. 'It's a screw.'

That's a remarkably good price for a pressure washer, which usually sells for hundreds of dollars.

(That probably should have been a red flag, Franklin.)

That's exactly what I would expect from shopping on AliExpress, the Chinese equivalent to Ebay. Unlike Ebay, the Chinese aren't renowned for putting their customers first, ahead of their sellers.

The Office of the United States Trade Representatives has added AliExpress to its list of Notorious Markets for Counterfeiting and Piracy.

Unsurprisingly, Franklin is having a hard time getting his money back.

Franklin has attempted to get his money back from AliExpress and tried to secure a chargeback from his bank without any success. He affirms he only spent around $40, but wants others to learn a lesson from his story.

'This is not good. This is really bad. All this is bad, you know what I mean? Don't scam anyone. I don't like being scammed because if you've spent your money, you want to receive what you paid for,' Franklin said.

I guess the old saying is true: "Buyer Beware," or as they say in Mandarin, "每分钟都有一个笨蛋诞生".
