How much coffee do you drink daily?
Well, it's not enough! Not if you want to healthily manage your weight.
A study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has discovered that adding just one cup of coffee a day to your routine can help you manage your weight!
The findings revealed that one additional cup of unsweetened coffee per day was associated with a decrease of .26 pounds over a four-year period.
Okay, so it's a quarter of a pound lost over 4 years. So maybe it's not exactly the miracle drug we've been waiting for.
Oh, and it has to be black coffee.
Participants who increased their daily intake by one teaspoon of sugar, however, gained .20 pounds over that same period.
An extra cup of black coffee every day will see you lose 0.26 pounds in 4 years. But the sugar will increase your weight. Shocker.
"Increasing intake of a warm, low- to no-calorie beverage may improve body weight, as increasing fluids, especially warm fluids, can improve the feeling of satiety, which may lead to fewer overall calories consumed throughout the day," Erin Palinski-Wade, a New Jersey-based registered dietitian, told Fox News Digital.
If you fill your belly up with something without calories you'll eat fewer calories later.
Such a monumental discovery!
They seriously spent 4 years studying if drinking coffee makes you eat less. And it does.
But, hey, every ounce counts. You never know what superpowers coffee might give you!!
