Illinois held a jersey retirement ceremony for former star and current NBA player Terrence Shannon Jr. during a game this weekend ... and it went about as bad as it possibly could have.
They hung it upside down!

Josh Whitman, the AD for the Fighting Illini, took time to apologize to Shannon and the fanbase for the incident.
