In case you missed it over the weekend, David French feebly attempted to make the case for why parents should be allowed to trans their kids. And he was thoroughly debunked and embarrassed for his effort.
After this latest turn in attacking his fellow (?) conservatives our main man, Seth Dillon, did a little bit of digging and found out that WE didn't need to debunk or rebuke French.
He'd already done it to himself, in 2016.
That "mutilation" tweet is still up, btw. (Until he realizes it and deletes it.)
National Review has since deleted French's article, but it's still here on the Wayback Machine.
2016 David French would not recognize today's David French who believes it should not be called "abuse" for parents to pay doctors to, in his own former words, "mutilate" a child.
"Quack science meets quack law," is how he previously described transgender people using a bathroom that does not correlate to their actual sex. Is that now one of those "blessings of liberty"?
What's changed between 2016 and now? Is it that gender reassignment surgery is no longer mutilation?
Reality would beg to differ.
David French now gets his paycheck from the New York Times and he has one job, which is to rile up and crap all over the right. Which he executes with gusto.
It's a real shame. Once upon a time, he was a conservative who was looked up to as a thought leader. And while he has changed, one thing has not: the children are still being mutilated.
And mutilation is still mutilation, even when done with a scalpel.
So very sad.
