Iron Crotch kung fu is a thing, and it’s dying, and some villagers in China wanna save it

Because regular kung fu isn't manly enough, some villagers in Juntun, China, practice a special form of kung fu called Iron Crotch kung fu. And yes, it is as freaky as it sounds.

Practitioners, over time, desensitize themselves to pain by getting slammed in the crotch with an 88 lb, steel-plate tipped log.

Wang Liutai, one of the only remaining Iron Crotch kung fu masters (I laugh a little every time I type that!), says it is perfectly safe, and doesn't, if properly executed, negatively affect fertility. He says the fact he has two children attests to its safety. What's more, he says the practice really improves your life and well being.

"When you practice Iron Crotch kung fu, as long as you push yourself, you will feel great." - Wang Liutai, head of the Juntun Martial Arts Academy.

But wait! There's more!

Swinging an 88lb tree trunk into the crotch is just one discipline in the broader genre of Tongbeiquan kung fu. There are iron throat, iron head, iron chest, and iron back disciplines, as well.

Alas, the iron crotch discipline is a dying art. For centuries, the secrets of the practice have been tightly held. But with over 200 practitioners dwindling down to just a few, Wang Liutai is willing to share the secrets in an effort to publicize the practice and build renewed interest, before it dies out completely.

"If there are more students carry it forward and spread it to the whole country and the world, if they can carry this form of kung fu forward, then my dream will come true," said Wang.

Who among you is man enough to take up the practice and make Wang's dream come true?
