LOL! Spotify is removing Neil Young from their platform after his Joe Rogan ultimatum

On Tuesday, famous rock and roller Neil Young (who is still alive, in case you weren't aware) threatened to pull all of his music from Spotify unless they removed Joe Rogan's *controversial* podcast from their platform.

Young was really upset that Rogan allows people on his show who don't follow the corporate-government orthodoxy on Covid, so he wrote a super serious letter to his record label, which included this beautiful line right here:

"I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both."

That was on Tuesday.

And by Wednesday we had this:

๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Just gorgeous, isn't it?

Absolutely gorgeous.

Here's Spotify:

"We want all the world's music and audio content to be available to Spotify users. With that comes great responsibility in balancing both safety for listeners and freedom for creators. We have detailed content policies in place and we've removed over 20,000 podcast episodes related to Covid since the start of the pandemic. We regret Neil's decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon."

Dude really thought he could knock down the most popular show on the planet with his three or four big hits. Shame.

And look at this:

The move is expected to cost Young around 60% of his streaming revenue, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Young said his music's removal from Spotify would be "a huge loss for [his] record company to absorb," according to the publication.

I do wonder how long it'll take Young to come crawling back to Spotify.

Who knows, maybe our lovely government will step in and remove Rogan's show themselves and Young can get back on Spotify. I'm sure that would make him really happy, you know, since he's a "rebel."
