This is really, really not a good look for the President of the United States.
President Biden was asked about his opinion in regard to the re-election of France's Lefty President Emmanuel Macron over right-wing challenger Marie LePen.
In his answer, the president makes the fatal error of admitting that the president of France has no time for the President of the United States.
LOL! Macron sent Biden to voicemail!
Absolutely brutal!
Well, we feel good about the French election, number one.
Number two, I tried to talk with him last night, we spoke to his staff but he was, uh, at the Eiffel Tower having a good time, so I'm going to be talking to him today.
Maybe you think, "Oh hey, no biggie. They're talking today!"
The New York Post has a good reminder for you:
Presidential calls to foreign leaders typically are arranged by White House staff to avoid unscripted or embarrassing moments for the leader of the world's wealthiest and most powerful country.
These calls are coordinated, sometimes months in advance, by entire teams of people. That means Biden called at the scheduled time and Macron didn't think it was worth the effort to pick up.
It's not the first time a foreign leader spurned Biden's outreach. The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan declined to speak with Biden about boosting oil exports to offset price hikes linked to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
And we were told that world leaders wouldn't take Trump seriously!
