Marjorie Taylor Greene forced Joe Biden off script during the State of the Union and it actually led to his clearest statement on immigration ever
· Mar 8, 2024 · NottheBee.com

Say what you want about Marjorie Taylor Greene and her full-MAGA attire at the SOTU, but her interruption of Biden's speech was probably the highlight of the night last night. She interrupted the president by shouting the name of Laken Riley, a nursing student down in Georgia who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant while out on a jog.

Here's how President Biden responded:

Lincoln [sic] Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal ... To her parents, I say my heart goes out to you having lost children myself, I understand.

But look, if we change the dynamic at the border — people pay these smugglers $8,000 to get across the border, because they know if they get by and let into the country it's 6-8 years before they have a hearing. And it's worth taking the chance at the $8,000. But, if it's only six weeks, the idea is it's highly unlikely that people will pay that money and come all that way knowing they'll be able to be kicked out quickly.

I don't know who said "that's right," but yeah, that was all pretty accurate — and it's the most coherent statement I've ever heard from this president.

Marjorie Taylor Greene just got the president to admit that our border policies are incentivizing illegal immigration.

Again, say what you want about her, but this conversation needed to happen and it did — live, at the State of the Union for everyone to see.
