Former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, was stabbed on Saturday while in Indianapolis for Colts game in his capacity as a sports commentator for Fox.

Sanchez, however, is accused of being the perpetrator in the incident.

Sanchez is now being charged with a felony that brings with it 1-6 years in prison!

The former QB, who earned the "Butt Fumble" moniker when he collided with a teammate's back end in 2012, was in an altercation with a 69-year-old local man who had parked in his way at a hotel.

From CNN:

Sanchez allegedly approached the 69-year-old man, who works for a company which exchanges commercial frying oil, in a loading dock area of a hotel and escalated a dispute regarding the man's parked vehicle ...

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, which captured the incident and showed Sanchez approaching the man's truck and beginning a conversation, the affidavit said.

The driver reportedly used pepper spray on Sanchez when Sanchez became aggressive. After the pepper spray did not stop Sanchez, the driver pulled a knife.

Police say there were numerous witnesses and a plethora of surveillance footage to corroborate the account.

Here are some photos of the driver after the attack:

Yikes...

Sanchez has been charged with public intoxication leading to injury, felony battery, and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.

More from CNN:

Sanchez later told a detective that he could barely remember anything from the incident, and that he did not know who it involved or where it happened ...

This might be explained by the public intoxication charge?

'Just because charges are filed doesn't mean the case or the investigation stops, so the investigators will be looking to all those things,' Bailey said, 'and I think the medical records are going to be extremely important for both individuals to help the prosecutor make a charging decision - to see if there's another charge that needs to be added, but also to see if there's if there were some sort of altered state of mind of the individuals involved in this incident.'

Mark Sanchez may have just butt-fumbled away his whole post-playing career.
