Buckle up, because this story takes you back to the insanity of 2020.
Zhyanna Bryant, a black activist at the University of Virginia was protesting at a "Black Women Matter" event that blocked traffic through the college town of Charlottesville. Her account, which was retweeted more than 1,000 times, claimed that white student Morgan Bettinger drove her SUV, unprovoked, up to the group of protesters and started yelling that they'd "make good f****** speed bumps."
However, the only video that was shared by Bryant and the group she belonged to showed just the aftermath, which involved the anti-police group chasing her SUV and calling her a Karen.
Here are two of the many videos made by Bryant to give you an idea of her extremism and activism:
Bettinger called the police that day because she was chased by protesters, but the BLM activists weren't too happy about that, claiming she was making things up when she called 911.
Local news covered the allegations, it was picked up by other activists across UVA's campus, and the university took action.
Of course, they didn't do anything to discourage the protesters who illegally took over the streets. The activists wanted a scalp; they wanted to make an example of someone. The university gladly obliged.
Bettinger was suspended in "abeyance," basically meaning that she had one strike on her record and one more meant she would be permanently suspended. She wasn't kicked out of school, but her reputation and her college career were absolutely ruined.
Now, after two investigations, the school has found NO evidence that Bettinger ever committed the supposed "foul" she was accused of.
Bettinger denied she made the threat. A student-run investigation agreed with Bettinger's, not Bryant's, version of what transpired. A separate investigation by the school's civil rights office concluded that none of Bryant's allegations had sufficient evidence to support them. Bryant's most damning claim — that Bettinger had told protesters they would make "good f***ing speed bumps" — had no corroborating witnesses, even though it allegedly occurred in front of a crowd of more than 30 people. Reason reviewed additional documents previously not made public, all of which back up the findings of the investigation.
Bryant has also reportedly said she "misheard" Morgan Bettinger three years ago.
But it's too late.
Even if your name is cleared legally and on this level, her name is in the papers as a racist and she still has the mark on her record. You can't just get your reputation back as easily as it's lost. Not even if it was lost because of a lie.
Bryant has been an activist since at least 12 years old. She's spoken at Bernie Sanders' rallies and she's been featured in The Washington Post.
The investigations concluded that Bettinger couldn't and shouldn't be held responsible, yet activist Bryant has suffered ZERO consequences for her lies.
On the Left, it probably just helps her street cred.
Wokies are saying she's even MORE of a hero now because the Right found out about her lies. She's just telling even more truth to power!
Morgan Bettinger should get justice, and UVA needs to publicly apologize for this charade.
The woke cult is absolutely despicable.
