Name a better time to propose than when a weirdo creates a police incident and gets you stranded on the Eiffel Tower πŸ’

You know what they say: One man's criminal act is another man's opportunity to propose in an unforgettable way!

Well, that's what happened in romantic Paris, France, this week when a man decided to climb the Eiffel Tower. According to AP News, the climber was caught between the second and third floors carrying a banner about American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish.

The banner was believed to read "Free Billie Eilish," but no one seemed to know what it was referring to (and this wasn't the first time something like this had happened).

Moving on...

The elevators were temporarily shut down. A specialist team of climbing firefighters led the man down, then police arrested him once he made it to the ground.

This incident left many people stranded at the top of the Eiffel Tower, not knowing when they could get back down.

Amir Khan made the most of that situation.

Khan was there with his girlfriend, Kat Warren, and was actually already planning on proposing later that night in a secluded garden, where they would savor a romantic dinner by the tranquil River Seine, far from the bustling crowds.

But Amir decided to take his shot.

Luckily, Pat Eaton-Robb, an AP reporter from Connecticut, was there to capture this beautiful moment.

"I figured we might be here longer than I imagined," Khan told the AP reporter. "So I didn't want to miss dinner and she always wanted to be proposed to on or under the Eiffel Tower. So I figured, β€˜This is it, this is the moment.'"

And the answer?

"Yes," of course.

"He had a pretty good chance of me saying β€˜Yes' all along," Warren said, laughing.

Besides, when trapped at the top of a 1,083-foot (330-meter) tower, how can anyone say "No?"

Had that happened, "somebody else would be climbing the Eiffel Tower today possibly," she joked.

This was not your average Eiffel Tower proposal. What an incredible story to tell their friends, family, and future kids!

Interestingly enough, AP's Eaton-Robb and wife Kathleen experienced a rather eventful week during their visit to Paris. Earlier that same week, they found themselves among the crowd evacuating from the Palace of Versailles due to a security scare.

This reporter is just in the wrong (or right) place at the wrong (or right) time! Hopefully Pat can stay clear of trouble.

To Amir and Kat - I wish you all the best in your marriage!
