New "Lord of the Rings" game makes Aragorn black ... I can't decide if it's normalizing race fluidity or bringing back black face

So, the new Magic: The Gathering's Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth has been previewing some of its artwork and cards, and people across the internet couldn't help but notice a major character change.

Aragorn is now a black man.

Here are some images from the set.

For the commentary to follow, it's important to note that none of Aragorn's people in the game are represented as being black: ancestral or present.

So, the question is, how is Aragorn black?

The Left is calling anyone that says anything about it "racist" of course, but let's ignore the snarling wokies and have a serious conversation about what's happening here.

Remember back in the '90s and early 2000s when the progressives wanted to normalize homosexuality?

Gayness was everywhere: There was Will and Grace, Ellen, Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Next thing you know, everyone was fine with gay marriage.

Now the progressives are doing this weird thing where they're taking people that were white and making them black.

Yes, fictional Aragorn, but also historical Cleopatra and even Anne Boleyn!

Back in the vaudeville days, if a white person was transformed into a black person, we'd call that "putting on black face."

Twenty years ago, they called putting on black face "playing a character."

But since black makeup is out of vogue now, are they just subbing in real black people as modern-day black face?

Or is there something else that the progressives are trying to normalize here, namely race-fluidity?

On the Right, the news we see suggests this is only going one way: with white people or characters being portrayed by actors with darker skin.

But there's controversy on the other side, as minorities are being portrayed by white people. One example is James Franco portraying Fidel Castro.

Not to mention the numerous times white people have actually claimed to be minorities in real life.

While the woke powers that be are adamant that gender and race are entirely different biological/cultural things that cannot be conflated, when pressed, most people cannot reason out why they're different. If gender and sex are fluid, then race can be too.

Listening to those interviews, is it too much to think that race-fluidity in entertainment is only serving to normalize the idea that race is a social construct, which can be swapped as easily as a costume change?
