Remember a decade ago when statues were being torn down and everything in America was getting a new name, a la the Cultural Revolution in China?
Well, it looks like one of those new names may see a reversal when Trump gets back in office.
Sorry, PBS Kids!
Mount McKinley, named after President William McKinley (1897-1901), was renamed in the native Koyukon language in 2015 after Obama argued that since McKinley never visited America's tallest mountain, it shouldn't be named after him.
The new name? Denali or, "the High One."
The 20,000-foot peak in Denali National Park and Preserve in south-central Alaska had since 1917 been known as Mount McKinley, in honor of 25th president William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901.
But Obama in 2015 renamed it Denali โ the name the local native community preferred โ a decision Trump said he plans to reverse.
Maybe you think renaming everything in society is dumb, but if you have to point fingers, point fingers at the wokies who started it.
If the Left gets to play that game, then the Right can too!
Trump calls McKinley a "great president," and promised, "we're going to bring back the name."
Here's Trump:
So over the weekend we found out Trump wants the Panama Canal back, we're purchasing Greenland, and now he's promising to dewokify the tallest mountain in America.
Amazing.
