A little context here: Ball's hit to (it looks like) short, and then the O's try for the double play. But watch what happens when Eric Hasse, who is clearly safe at second, asks Tigers second basemen Joey Ortiz if they got him out. It's actually quite hilarious.

But yeah, general rule in baseball: Never trust a word the other team utters. It's a competition, so of course they'll mislead you anytime they get a chance.

Hasse almost found out the hard way, but did a magnificent job of recovering and staying aboard.
