Cory O'Keefe tried to perform CPR as paramedics raced to the scene while Jasper Kraus lay in a pool of his own blood, whispered "rooster" softly, then his eyes closed, and his body slumped. Meanwhile, in the chicken coop a cocky Brahma rooster scratched about in a trail of red dirt leading to the house.

It sounds like a scene out of a b-rated horror film, but these were the events of a grisly death in Ballinasloe, Ireland.

Kraus's daughter said that killing her father wasn't the rooster's first act of violence either. It had also attacked her daughter.

The rooster had apparently attacked Kraus's leg and nicked an artery causing him to bleed to death before paramedics arrived to save him.

The coroner recorded the death as a misadventure and a dreadful event for the family.

Oddly enough, in February of 2021, there was another story of a rooster killing its owner with a knife.
