We've got a live one, y'all.

Serena Williams is out here speaking truth to power after she found something disgustingly racist in a hotel hallway in NYC.

How do we feel about cotton as decoration? Personally for me it just doesn't look great.

...

You might say she's simply commenting on the look and the feel of the decor and is only talking about the lack of aesthetic appeal with the cotton plant ...

But that's not how the media is taking it.

Here's People magazine:

Serena Williams spoke out after noticing a questionable decoration at a New York City hotel.

Williams, 43, took to social media with a video of the decor, a vase holding a cotton plant on a table in the hallway, and asked her followers for their thoughts about the display.

Here's TMZ:

And here's Vibe:

Serena Williams was made uncomfortable this week as she exited her New York City hotel due to a piece of decor known to be triggering for some.

The tennis champ, 44, shared video via her Instagram Stories Thursday (Sept. 25) of her walking down her hotel hallway toward a decorative cotton plant, leading her to question how her followers feel about it as she visibly shuddered at the sight. This is due to the cotton plant's association with transatlantic slave labor.

I'd love nothing more than for Williams to come out and say these people are all nuts and that she was only talking about the decoration as decoration ... but all signs seem to be pointing the other way.

Here are a couple reactions:

I hope the ultra-rich tennis star is able to recover from this case of victimhood soon.
