Earlier this year we informed you about a case in Virginia where a pervert was allowed access to intimate women's spaces and responded, predictably, like a pervert:
Well, the sicko was in court this week on charges of having exposed himself multiple times to women in locker rooms. And the details were, as ever, more horrifying and enraging than you think:
Registered sex offender Richard Cox was back in an Arlington, Virginia, courtroom Thursday for a lengthy preliminary hearing. ...
A dozen witnesses testified in the preliminary hearing for the Cox case, including women who said they saw him naked in the women's locker rooms in Arlington County‘s Wakefield High School, Washington Liberty High School, and Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center.
And yes, just to drive home the most unbelievable part of this case: This guy is a registered sex offender, and he pretended to be a woman, and Virginia county officials just allowed him access to vulnerable women and girls, no questions asked.
The pervert should be in jail for sex crimes, of course, but plenty of public "leaders" should also be in jail for allowing this to happen.
Alas, we likely won't see the latter happen anytime soon. But assuredly the testimony in court this week should be enough to throw Richard Cox in the slammer:
One witness said when she and her five-year-old daughter went into the girls' locker room after swim class, Cox - who identifies as a woman but is still physically male - was standing naked in a shower stall with the curtain open, touching himself.
On another occasion, a woman and her five and six-year-old daughters were at Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center for a gymnastics class, and when they went into the girls' locker room, Cox was in there naked. ...
A 17-year-old lifeguard who worked at one of the Arlington pools said she witnessed Cox naked in a school locker room, as did other women who testified.
There is another, obvious, undeniable sign that this creep was actually seeking out women and girls to prey upon them:
An Arlington detective also testified she found child pornography on Cox's phone and children's gymnastic class schedules for Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center. The Arlington detective testified she also found children's swimming lesson schedules for Fairfax County rec centers on Cox's phone.
The Arlington prosecutor told the court these facts speak clearly to Cox's motive for visiting those facilities.
Now, in addition to being an unambiguous creep and sicko, Cox is also a registered sex offender. That means he's restricted on what kinds of places he can go where children are present.
But, amazingly, Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano is refusing to prosecute Cox even though he violated the terms of his lifetime sex offender status:
[Descano's] office directed police not to file charges against Cox for his visits to the Fairfax County rec center. Last year, Cox visited Audrey Moore Rec Center, Franconia Rec Center, and Oakmont Rec Center, even though Cox cannot be near day programs for children as a registered Tier III sex offender.
Descano also didn't prosecute Cox when he allegedly exposed himself to a woman in a women's Planet Fitness locker room.
I don't think you'll be at all surprised to learn what party Descano belongs to:
Incredibly, during the same week that witnesses testified against Cox, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares released a blistering, scathing report detailing Descano's "pattern of failure" at protecting law abiding citizens from violent criminals.
And what was one of the major failures of the office cited by the attorney general? Well:
The Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney has refused to initiate proceedings against Cox for good behavior violations or any substantive criminal offense.
Virginia, these are your Democratic leaders: Letting child-porn sex offenders into girls' locker rooms and then refusing to prosecute them. Vote accordingly.
