These are our future leaders, we're told.
An email was sent to students offering the services.
"You or your friends may experience a number of reactions following the election," the email reads. "Having a reaction is both normal and expected. Sometimes emotional aftershocks or stress reactions appear immediately and some may appear in a few hours or several days/weeks after."
It's like the PTSD that students experienced in 2016. There will be stress, it's definitely a disorder, and it will happen post the election. The only thing missing is the trauma. Hey, still three out of four! It's pretty much exactly like serving in Iraq or being the victim of sexual abuse.
"For students who 'want to protest' the election results, the school gave a list of recommendations, such as dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes and staying with a group."
While I'm sure the fires will keep them plenty warm, and staying with a group will not be a problem, the importance of comfortable shoes cannot be stressed enough.
Let's face it, those flat-panel TVs are not going to walk themselves out of Best Buy.
What should those of us who are not coddled emotional cripples attending an expensive and elite private university do?
Go to work, love our family and friends, be kind to our neighbors, and try to respect the opinions of others.
It's just how we cope.
