According to the American Farm Bureau, the cost of a Thanksgiving meal for 10 people has gone up a whopping 25% to $61.17 since the pre-Covid era. This Thanksgiving will be the second most expensive on record, only slightly less expensive than last year's feast (or should we call it a famine?)
The Farm Bureau reported,
This is a 4.5% decrease from last year's record-high average of $64.05, but a Thanksgiving meal is still 25% higher than it was in 2019, which highlights the impact high supply costs and inflation have had on food prices since before the pandemic.
Don't let that 25% increase over the past four years distract you from the 4% decrease since last Thanksgiving. I guarantee that's the number that you'll see the Biden administration touting.
The cost of turkey was the biggest decrease, going down by $1.61 since last year. Now that's something to take comfort in when you get your eviction notice in the mail this holiday season.
The cost analysis between different regions of the country found that the most affordable groceries were found in the Midwest and the South (in case you needed another reason to move out of blue states).
But here's the real kicker: Many people feel this analysis is looking at the cheapest possible options.
Leave a comment for us: Do you think $61 for feeding 10 people is feasible? How much did your family spend on Thanksgiving this year?
Be careful though: Anything that goes against the Narrativeâ„¢ might land you in the gulags!
