There are some people who can't wait to get out of the city and realize their dream of building their dream home out in the country. And then there are other people who make it happen with $60,000 and a pair of shipping containers.

According to the New York Post, happy Texas couple Diego and Lexi Newkirk did just that, moving out of Austin, Texas (who can blame them) and onto a 12-acre lot and converting a pair of used 40-foot shipping containers into their new home.

The pair have always loved unique homes and decided to make a tiny home out of shipping containers — for which they paid just $5,500 each.

Diego — who works in mold removal — has spent the last year constructing the containers into a 640 sq. ft. home with one bedroom and a bathroom.

The pair now hope to have it completely finished by the beginning of March — they'll live there while they work on the rest of their land, where they hope to create a proper homestead.

Live shot of their seating situation in the tiny home:

The two Austin natives were eager to get out of the fast-growing urban center and find a quieter place to live. They have been doing most of the work on the new home themselves.

Lexi said: 'We didn't want to put that money towards an apartment. Where my mom lives it's a lot of homes right on top of each other. They are all the same.'

'We want to give people inspiration for different projects you can do.'

So there you have it, folks. If you work hard and put your mind to it, you too can someday experience the sheer joy of living in a couple of shipping containers.

Honestly, it's still probably better than staying in Austin.
